Alizée in the video for "L'Alizé"
Alizée Jacotey, born in Ajaccio, Corsica, on August 21, 1984, is a French singer. Her stage name is Alizée, being the feminine form of alizé, which means trade wind. She is considered to be the protégée of Mylène Farmer, a well-established and successful Quebec-born French singer. Alizée's most popular single was "Moi... Lolita" which enjoyed success throughout most of Europe and parts of east Asia. Indeed, Alizée's image is that of a seductive Lolita character.
Alizée is currently taking a break from singing, but it's rumoured to return with a new album in autumn 2006 (no official word yet).
Alizée married fellow French singer Jérémy Châtelain on November 6, 2004. The couple had their first child, Hannah Lily, on April 28 2005.
